3 years of academic study have made me realise the importance of expression and its ability to extend the self in order to understand it and it’s surroundings. My greatest hypocrisy is that is that all i want to hear from others is the truth, in plain terms, simple language, but when i try to express an idea or a feeling my vocabulary shifts into abstraction. But then expression comes in many forms.

At University i found a passion for both Environmental History and Japanese History and are a major influence. Japan and The Floating World, The Noriko Trilogy (Film), Chikamatso Monzaemon and Matsu Basho. Environmental history and the extinction and re-introduction on animals, sustainability, romantic notions of nature/landscape, various key personalities. I also took a Cultural History module on Vienna (1900) which has proved to be equally as valuable, learning of Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Franz Kakfa, Gustav Klimpt and Sigmund Freud, to name a few.

As i have said on a previous blog: ‘words and/of art can create imaginary worlds where we can live out a life of mesmerizing beauty or accomplish things seemingly out of grasp and extraordinary. At the same time they can express our innermost feelings and thoughts about who we are and how we see the world’

On this Blog i want to focus on words: poetry, short stories, poetic moments and generally the expression of ideas and curiosities that come to mind.

Thanks for reading my ramblings! feel free to comment on anything i put up, would appreciate the feedback.
